The Tapping Therapy was a revolution
EFT Therapy: Emotional Freedom Technique
The Tapping Therapy: Gary Craig’s Emotional Freedom Technique evolved from Robert Callahan’s Thought Field Therapy. Many people call it the tapping therapy, and it quickly took the world by storm. Although Gary Craig is not a mental health clinician, various individuals including medical doctors, psychotherapists and coaches all over the world are now using EFT.
Self Soothing: Stabilizing the nervous system and calming the mind are important components to psychotherapy. EFT is a tapping technique that uses energy points and gentle exercises to calm and energize your body and your mind. Every one of my clients is introduced to EFT, often on the first session.
I find EFT to be the single most important self-soothing tool a client can learn.
- Stop the constant chatter in your head
- Relieve emotional distress
- Resist the temptation of a behavior
- Help stop a panic attack
- Quickly become more aware of your inner world
- Feel empowered between sessions
How it works
Energy Patterns
Strategic points on the body are stimulated by tapping. This can correct disturbed energy patterns that might underlie emotional and psychological problems.
Choice Statements
I will teach you how to interrupt negative feelings and thoughts using “choice statements”. This two part statement combines your negative thoughts and an affirmation to interrupt the thought.
Self Care
In most instances, you will be instructed on how to stimulate the appropriate points yourself.
Self Soothing
The combination of tapping and specifically targeted “choice” statements will give you a powerful arsenal for self-soothing. Of course, you may always decline anything I offer.
