Are your relationships taking a beating because of your anger?

Do you try everything to get it under control, but you can’t? When your anger takes over, you are not in control of your life. You may feel embarrassed and guilty afterwards for the things you said and did. Perhaps your anger has even caused legal problems, or you are concerned that it will.

It is likely not your fault that you have anger problems. Have you ever been taught the skills you need to manage your anger? Probably not. If you have trauma in your past, it’s probable that your anger is (in part) a result of that trauma. Anger can be a part of a cluster of symptoms known as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). You don’t have to meet the full criteria for PTSD for trauma to be stimulating your anger.

When I facilitated anger management groups, I found that integrating the effects of trauma into the treatment not only brought results, but it was also a deep relief for the participants. They stopped feeling out of control and afraid they were crazy, and started seeing there were reasons for their behavior and a way out.

I am a Traumatologist, and helping clients resolve these issues is my specialty. Even if other therapists have shied away from your angry aggression, there is a good chance that we will be a perfect fit.
